We will take your preference of training program into account, however applicants may be offered either a Traineeship or an Apprenticeship, depending on a number of factors throughout the application process. This is based on demand for your trade or skillset across our mine sites. Upon successful completion of a training program, you will commence site-based employment with access to accommodation facilities if you do not reside locally.īHP has sites across Australia and it is important to understand that you may be required to relocate (including interstate) once you complete your training. As these will be town-based training locations, accommodation or daily transport to training will not be provided. Candidates would need to relocate to the training location if they do not already live locally. Training will be undertaken fulltime at our facility in Perth on an 8 days on / 4 days off roster. The training involves a mixture of classroom and theory learning, as well as practical workshop training. The Perth academy is currently offering training programs in: Trainees study to become highly skilled and valued Maintenance Associates with BHP, completing a Certificate II in Engineering – Production Technology and becoming familiar with maintaining specific mining equipment. Maintenance Traineeships are a 12-month training program based at the academy.
